Gus, I was really disappointed with the sky cover in NY until I looked at yours for Columbus!!! Holy cow. I’ll take what we have here in NY. Can’t wait to discuss everything in the conference call.
Good Gus, CLIMATE Timetable plot: try it monthly (radio button lower left). The 3D chart really shows the sky cover for November, January (compare to 2D chart by Anderle) Try the psychrometric chart for separate months – say January and July – easier interpretation. DAYLIGHTING Light shelf is a good strategy; it might, however, work better on the south (sun moves horizontally). But here on the west the sun descends so low it blasts directly into the space perhaps by-passing the shelf. Perhaps combine the shelf with vertical fixed/operable louvers? OTHER: Your western exposure is tough on summer overheating – exterior “bris soleil” could help – or perhaps exterior vertical louvers? Is your back to the window? Is there glare on the computer screen? Move the screen?
